folder_openDeputy Manager - Based in Ealing
Principal Responsibilities:
- Day-today running of the home.
- To manage the day-to-day running of the home/unit/business and to act as person-in-charge whenever asked to by the registered owner/client.
- To meet the personal care needs of any prospective service user
- To ensure that each new service user understands the manager’s role and responsibilities.
- To investigate complaints, take appropriate action and report to the person-in-control and/or the CQC.
- To liaise with and co-operate with CQC inspectors and inspections.
Service User Care:
- To advise the client/registered owner of any malfunction of the heating, lighting or emergency systems and ensure the security of the premises.
- To ensure that the fire regulations are complied with and advise the director/client/person-in-control if there are areas of risk.
- To ensure that legislation and regulation concerning environmental health, infection control, building control, planning and health and safety are complied with, and to advise the person-in-control accordingly where action is required.
Staff Matters:
- To assist the client/registered owner to ensure that there is good communication with and between staff and to arrange staff meetings.
- To ensure that effective induction, supervision and assessment of staff is carried out and that training needs are identified and met.
- To ensure that employment protection legislation is implemented.
- To arrange staff rotas.
Premises:
- To advise the client/registered owner of any malfunction of the heating, lighting or emergency systems and ensure the security of the premises.
- To ensure that the fire regulations are complied with and advise the director/client/person-in-control if there are areas of risk.
- To ensure that legislation and regulation concerning environmental health, infection control, building control, planning and health and safety are complied with, and to advise the person-in-control accordingly where action is required.
Finance:
- To be responsible for the monitoring and control of day-to-day expenditure within the home’s budget limits.
- To prepare budgets and monthly cash flow reports for the director/person-in-control and to ensure that adequate accounting and financial records systems are in operation.
- To ensure that service users are, wherever possible, supported in retaining responsibility of their own money and financial arrangements.
- To ensure that, where a service user is assessed as incapable of handling their own financial affairs, their money is handled properly and with the utmost probity and that records are kept of all financial transactions.
Staff Development and Education:
- Ensure that competence is maintained and developed.
- Participate in on going up-date courses, audit and research.

About the Role
We currently have opportunities for Support Worker’s within our home’s providing supported living for residents with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
We are looking for passionate, caring and enthusiastic people who enjoys helping others and seeing the difference their support can make to enable individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
Your role as a Support Worker will be to:
- Support the manager to provide a quality service and to promote high standards of practice.
- Be central to service delivery by providing leadership, direct line management supervision and support to a number of care and support staff.
- Take a hands-on approach to care and support management.
About You:
You will be passionate and driven with the desire to provide high quality, person centred services. You will have experience in the delivery of care and/or support services to vulnerable adults and of designing and reviewing personalised support plans and risk assessments.
We are looking for people who with a 'can-do'attitude who are driven by the desire to make a difference and who have the ability to recognise the wishes and needs of vulnerable adults and communicate effectively using different methods according to peoples needs.
You will need to be able to:
- Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday working.
- Work as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people we support
- Be flexible in your approach to work.
- Have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with learning disabilities.
- All applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence.
